Tokyo Marathon 2012 (Hotel Fukudaya)

TOKYO MARATHIN 2012
A large-scale, citizen participation marathon tournament, and has started in 2007. Sunday the 26th of January will be the day this year.

Start time for wheelchair marathon will be at 9:05am, and 9:10am is the time for the marathon and 10km race.The running route will be from Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and going through Imperial Palace Square, Hibiya, Shinagawa, Ginza, Nihonbashi, Asakusa Kaminarimon gate, Tsukiji, Toyozu, and finishing at Tokyo Big Sight.

Godairiki-san Rice Cake Lifting Competition

A competition for rice cake lifting is going to be held at Golden Hall of Daigoji Temple. The aim of the event is for wishing a state of perfect health and safety by competing for how long they can hold the rice cakes in their arms. Women lift up 90kg, and 150kg of huge rice cake for men.

Kawazu-zakura Cherry Blossom Festival - between February 5 and March 10
Kawazu-sakura trees bloom earlier than other cherry trees in general. Rape blossoms along the riverbank are also good to check. The cherry trees will be lighted up in the evening.

Period:  December 31 2011 to January 3 2012
Opens during nighttime between December 31 and January 1.

Bus no.3 from East Exit or no.4 from West Exit and takes approx. 13 minutes from the bus stop at Kanazawa Station. Get off at 'Kenrokuen-shita' and 2 minutes walk from the stop.
