The 13th Yufuin Bunka Kiroku Film Festival will be held from May 28 to 30. Both fiction and non-fiction films are screened including documentary films illustrating Japanese traditional culture.

Myoko Togen-sai (Ryokan Kofukan)

The 36th Togen-sai (Togen Festival)
- Here comes the event fo Spring in Myoko Kogen. In every year so many people,inspired by a season of skunk cabbages at Imori Pond, come and enjoy this festival. O-Kayaba yaki is the most spectacular event of the festival.

Kenrokuen will be opened to public with no entrance fee during cherry blossom season and cherry trees will be illuminated for a night walk. (Dates are depending on the announcement of flowering)

Three famous spots for cherry blossoms around Kanazawa are Kenrokuen, Kanazawa Castle, and Hirosaka Dori street. "Shiinoki Geihinkan" (Shiinoki VIP guest house) will be opened right middle of those three spots and it will be another secret Hanami viewing place in Kanazawa.

Ask staff for a chance to put on a Kimono and have your picture taken beside a traditional Japanese Kakejiku hanging scroll. Please book by the morning for a 40-minute session starting after 7:00pm. (Not available on Saturday and Holidays.)

Experience an authentic Japanese tea ceremony right here at Seifu-so. Our owner has Urasenke-style tea master certification. Enjoy rich green tea and a Zen feeling! Every day from three days after cherries begin blooming - 8 days in April

While the cherry blossoms (sakura) are in bloom around Matsumoto Castle, guests who visit the castle between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 will be treated to the sight of illuminated cherry trees. 

  • Entry Into: The interior garden of the castle is free for this event, and hot miso soup with pork (tonjiru) and sweet rice dumplings will be available for purchase. There's also Japanese tea and seating available for 500 yen, making it easy to sit and relax and enjoy an unusual flower viewing experience. Performances of the Japanese koto, the flute, and classical gagaku music will also be held each night.

Hakata Dontaku Port Festival is held on May 2 and 3 every year. Over 2 million people visit to Fukuoka city every year in this period. Many citizens join this festival. The festival is held every places of Fukuoka city, for instance, main street, station, center of business street. You can enjoy the festival everywhere in the city.
