The Spring festival begins with a parade of Shinto divinities, such as Udaijin (Minister of the right), Sadaijin (minister of the left), Akaoni (the red demon) and Aooni (the blue demon). The procession starts from the first torii (gate) of the shrine and heads to the shrine’s main pavilion. At the main pavilion, people wearing ancient costume perform a little show on a stage. Visitors can go on sightseeing boat to scatter beans from the lake Ashi-no-ko to the demons skiing on the lake to get good luck. During the night before the festival, fireworks will be fired for celebrating the end of winter.
