Review of Ryokan Bentenkaku (Naruko, Miyagi)

AMAZING EXPERIENCE

I was here to photograph the kokeshi festival, so it was a business trip of sorts. Above and beyond incredible hospitality. The owners are so nice and helped me get acquainted with the locals. I can’t recommend this place enough, they really know the true meaning of countryside hospitality. One of the owners can speak English as well.
There is a private onsen bath here for couples or shy foreigners who do not want to get naked in front of strangers. The food is gorgeous as well. The onsen water is fantastic. If you are in any way stressed out, or want a break from the Tokyo pace, come here, eat good food, and unwind in some beautiful scenery.

Review of Kyounso (Iwate)

Wonderful stay

We spent four amazing nights at Kyounso. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and the staff were fantastic the whole trip. Beautiful ryokan!! Gorgeous rotemburo. Delicious food. Good place to do some lovely hiking. Try get a room with a toilet which are located close to the onsen. Autumn colours were beautiful. Great place if you are looking for rest and relaxation in beautiful surroundings.

Review of Kamesei Ryokan (Nagano)

Great experience off the beaten track

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Kamesei Ryokan at the end of of trip to Japan, it was a perfect climax to our journey and just like past reviews have indicated, Tyler was an excellent host, always available to help, particularly with Paul’s gluten allergy. The breakfast and dinner was excellent and we were able to learn more about Japanese food and culture. We took the cycle tour which was fun and informative.
